Central America: A Quest for the Progression of Economic ValueSeason I. Episode 3. Discovery of Spanish America Part II.

Dear Readers:
It has been a hectic week for us in San Salvador. We have done a lot of reading, but it has been worth it. We have been searching for different views in our quest to understand what occurred in the Iberian lands before the advent of the Catholic Monarchs into power. The content of the following slides is self-explanatory. It includes an idea that has been tilting our minds for several years. It is time to display it.

Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella of Castile, monarchs of Iberia, have allowed us to comprehend several elements that historians could have dismissed. Do not worry about the bits and pieces of the Conquest and Colonization of Spanish America (with specific aspects of Central America). We will have at least four episodes in November to fully dedicate ourselves to it. Currently, we are exploring the previous context of the Discovery of America, and why the kingdoms of Castile & Aragon procured different strategic alliances with the rest of the European Powers, in their quest to keep their new beloved Spanish America in their hands.

Further, we have changed our outline calendar. Two reasons are behind this modification. The first one is simply operational: I need to read thoroughly and cross-check several sources of reference simultaneously, and I have gathered around 300 books that keep my bibliography alive. Given this behemoth amount of information, I can´t ignore that time is required, if I wish to deepen the challenge of this season. Second, our strategic house has received a request from a potential academic sponsorship from an institution that desires to witness how we target the 16th century of Spanish America, and we have agreed with it. Please visit slide 2 of the following document to acknowledge our new outline. Be confident that all these modifications will be extremely revealing and we are convinced that our work will help all our readers too.

We encourage you to download the PDF version, given its clarity and better overview. Feel free to share and discuss our material with your friends and/or colleagues. The following set of slides responds to the main questions of our past episode. Let´s read them!

Announcement:
At the moment we are simply showing you who was who in the corporate strategy of the foundations of Spanish America. Don´t lose sight, please. We are taking you slowly and steadily into this journey to discover the truth behind the Discovery of America. Next week, we will continue exploring the situation of one of the worst popes of history, Pope Alexander VI (1431-1503), Rodrigo Borja (Borgia) & Doms. This Pope will always be remembered as the most corrupt, nepotist, and criminal one; who implemented dreadful measures and immoral activities which in turn triggered the Protestant Reformation. Interestingly enough, the bloodlines of this Pope are related to Valencia, a section of the territory of Ferdinand II, King of Aragon. Is it a “fortuitous” coincidence?

We encourage you to notice this chapter of the Catholic Church as a past history that has been repaired and deserves to be reminisced every now and then. So it would never happen in the future again. Currently, these types of problems exist in other ecclesiastical denominations.

Musical Section.

Our melodious selection of music during this saga will be served with songs and concerts that could have been listed on the most important Billboard during the century of our themes. Today, we have chosen the following one: “Cancionero Musical de Palacio (1475-1515): Music at the Court of Isabella & Ferdinand II”, from the YouTube Channel Early Music Midi.
