On eagles wings: Our recovery from Coronavirus (XLVIII). Children are the faith for our ethical recovery

A new week is beginning, and we have a new day to make it renewed.

First of all, I apologize for not being able to post yesterday. Please trust me, I have been trying to get good information for you on-line, but I was unable to find what I was looking for. I started to search for public available information in relation to ethical codes that could help us to make sense of the whereabouts of ethical values since infancy. So we went to find the top or best kindergartens all over the world. We found several lists, but I tried to filter just the ones with highest quality. Some  of the websites (particularly the public or state financed ecoles pour petit enfants) are not available in English, and/or they don´t have one, but are grouped under the education or municipal government website. Then I discovered something new, if we are lucky and find their specific website, some have not posted the ethical statements either. That discovery opens up the clear fact that ethical codes are not generally disclosed. And that reminds me, that my start-up still has to update my own website. I have to update it by communicating Eleonora Escalante Strategy ethical values too.

The last paragraph displays one simple truth: that we are not used to pass on our ethical statements. Publicly. Including myself. Next week, I will update my website. I promise. So we all have to make the effort to communicate our ethical codes, because that simple visual presentation is a commitment towards society and ourselves. We all have the duty to do it.

Last week we showed you some examples of what we believe are the ethical statements or ethical codes of some famous private organizations. We sort them randomly, in consequence, it is not our aim to impeach or judge or celebrate their efforts to show ethical statements (in whatever form or structure), It is not our responsibility to set up grades for each ethical statement that we find on the internet. As you have previously understood, each organization has different people with more or less relevant values given their activities and purposes, but at least we expect one or some of the 11 values that we have shown you in this saga. It will be amazing if we find organizations with all these 11 virtues included, but that is not the case. Each organization has its priorities, and in consequence the ethical values under consideration could differ from one to another one.

The Beatitudes (His top Ethical Values) according to Jesus Christ

A reader asked me why did 11 virtues: (1) Humbleness; (2) Meekness and Peacemaking; (3) Mourning; (4) Hunger for righteousness; (5) Mercy; (6) Courage under suffering; (7) Purity of heart; (8) Love; (9) Faith; (10) Hope; (11) Integrity. My answer: At the beginning, I was keen to only provide the 7 virtues that are clearly seen in the New Testament, in Matthew 5:3-12. I conjoined together Meekness with Peacemaking. And I also united Courage under Suffering with Persecution because of Righteousness. Anyway, I also added love, because it is impossible to do anything good in life without love. Then I added Faith and Hope which are singular virtues that Jesus showed us. And of course we lastly ended with the top cluster of virtues of all, Integrity. I never planned to bring a specific number of virtues to the table, but to try to see the life of Jesus-Christ and find the most relevant of his ethical values. Of course, He also has much more values on his list, and you can find them and choose them for your life, endeavors or companies.

For this week, we promised to deliver some examples of the existing ethical statements of the education sector: schools and universities; and also of some NGOs. Our methodology to teach is through examples. Then we will analyze and provide critical reflection, and we will finalize by showing you a method (general one) that can be used to formulate ethical codes.  Even if you have a petite store, or a cafeteria, or a micro-business stand of selling tamales, fruits, species, flowers, economic reports, tech utensils, department stores, a fashion atelier, or whatever, it is super important that you can sit down with your employees and define your ethical statement. If you don´t like the word “code” because it seems to legal, don´t use it, but at least define the ethical virtues or values of your labor. You have no idea how crucial it is and will be for your future dedication.

Some ethical codes found at different kindergarten institutions in the world. As I mentioned previously, I guided myself by searching the top pre-school entities that could be considered as the most relevant, not just because of their beautiful architectonic set-up, but because it is well known their reputation in terms of quality of education. I would like to remark that if I took a couple of days to do research about ethical codes at the most prominent, advanced and best kindergarten institutions in the world, it is because children matter for our recovery after Coronavirus. Ethical education begins at home and then at school. Kids learn to be ethical by socializing daily with their petit friends. And professors are the guides for it. If kindergartens do not take the time to build their ethical values correctly, it is impossible to have faith that our planet will change for ecological and integral societies. My hope is that Alex Guillermo Lozano Artolachipi and me can procreate and raise our children to be the recovery of our society. Children raised with ethical integral ecological values are the only way we can change. My faith and hope is to be a mom of kids who will grow up with the ethics code that will help us to correct our current mess. Love you Alex for being together with me for it. Loving you endlessly.

This is it for today. See you again on Friday.
