Strategic Reflection from our heart. Let’s be thankful… With gracious gratitude.
Hi….
I know today all Americans are almost ready to celebrate Thanksgiving. Even though it is not a tradition to celebrate it in El Salvador, many families with members who have lived in the USA have started to celebrate it here…
I always celebrate Thanksgiving in my mind. Sometimes I just go out for a swimming and inside the water, I feel so thankful to be alive in the middle of adversities… Inside the water, I find calm. It is so peaceful to be swimming… It is in the pool where I can listen to God and just to my own bubbles in the water when breathing…. And I usually use those 2,000 swimming training meters to pray, to meditate.
Today, I apologize for not writing about business. I decided to share some thoughts which came to my mind when I was swimming a few hours ago.
Thanksgiving is celebrated only one day per year, but I believe every single day we must be thankful. I am thankful because I am still alive, I can walk, run, jump, dance, think, sing, write, read, enjoy the beauty of the nature… And I can swim!… I am thankful to have a spot of life in town. You have no idea what shocking was for me to return from Zürich to El Salvador. Zürich was a peaceful place where there is zero crime, and here in town, we are all time reading in the news that at least between 10 up to 40 people PER DAY die because of gangs violence. When you live in a violent country like this one, it is a duty to give thanks every day for being alive. I am thankful for my parents, brothers, and sister. I am thankful for my nieces and nephews. They are also alive.
I am also thankful for having dreams to realize. I am thankful for Alex Guillermo Lozano Artolachipi presence in my life. When I met him, the second week of January of the year 2001, I still remember his grand height, his smile, his eyes, his soft mouth, even his outfit.
The first time I saw him, he was wearing a long sleeve blue ski shirt, khaki chinos trousers and brown Sperry shoes. Alex Lozano’s smile captivated me since that day. He and I spent hours speaking… He was my boss, he was partner of the firm where I worked in San Jose, Costa Rica… And we enjoyed talking to each other, drinking coffee and eating cookies. I loved those moments I spent with him…. He always wanted me to be well and he always wished me to work with excellent people. He never put me down to diminish my personality, he never wished to convert me in something I did not want to be. He always respected me. He never wished me to become a cook or a domestic maid or an assistant. Alex Guillermo Lozano Artolachipi always wished me to develop my mind in knowledge, not just professionally as a consultant and investments specialist, but also in appreciation of life. I am thankful for him. I am thankful for his presence in my life since year 2001.
Let’s be thankful for all what we are, what we are doing, and for all what we will be able to do and is yet to come. But the miracle of life is our greatest God’s gift.
Blessings. Thanks for reading me. With hope and gratitude. Enjoy this day.
