Leg 10. From Cardiff to Gothenburg (II). Blue Ocean Strategy Insights

Have a good night! I was wondering what each of the fleet teams is doing at the moment in Great Britain. We hope all of you are fine and enjoying this pleasant week. As far as the situation in Central America, some days ago Volcano de Fuego, in Guatemala, unleashed a fast-moving mix of ash, rock and volcanic gases that virtually swallowed several near neighborhoods transforming the landscape into a gray wasteland. The Volcano Fuego erupted last Sunday.

We feel so overwhelmed by watching the images of our Guatemalan neighbors. We pray for help. Many people have died, and hundreds have disappeared. Our solidarity wishes with the Guatemalan people. ¡Fuerza Guatemala!

Passing to our pertinent domain, today´s subject is The Blue Ocean Strategy Insights. We have prepared the following set of slides. We hope you can grasp an idea of what is the general methodology of the Blue Ocean Strategy, as it has been defined by Professors Kim and Mauborgne. All the analytical tools have been developed by © Kim & Mauborgne.

book cover 3dWe have tried to give you a general overview of how the Blue Ocean Strategy and its respective analytical tools are all interrelated and integrated into a framework and model defined by the authors. In addition, Kim and Mauborgne have recently published a new book, Blue Ocean Shift, which is a simplification step by step on how to apply the Blue Ocean analysis.  We invite you to visit their website which is full of information about the methodology and coming seminars: www.blueoceanstrategy.com.  If you are interested in the detailed process on how to design, create and implement a Blue Ocean Strategy, we also encourage you to google it. There are thousands of presentations, videos, and documents which can provide you the additional flow of knowledge about it. We recommend buying both books too: The Blue Ocean Strategy (2005) and Blue Ocean Shift (2017).

My mother gave me this gift: a beautiful mug.

Before closing this post, let me say thanks for the birthday wishes. Of course, the most important thanks are to mom and dad, to my family phone calls and birthday morning songs too. I am thankful for all the Birthday wishes and messages I have received today from friends, former classmates and colleagues,  far-away best friends from Switzerland, UK, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Colombia, USA, etc.  Thanks to my Salvadoran team, the guardian angels I have here, for helping me so much to learn and continue learning, since my return from Switzerland. All of you are so close to my heart. Thanks to Alejandro Guillermo Lozano Artolachipi for his adorable presence in my life. I love you to the moon and back. About me, the whole day, I spent it, preparing this material we are sharing with you. I also received a  beautiful mug as a gift from my mother. Thank you so much for it. It will fill the next VOR days blog days with coffee. Every birthday is the beginning of a new year that is open to us by God. It is the opportunity to renew our spirit and look ahead to the future with hope, love, and thankfulness for all the gifts we have such as health, shelter, food and the people around us who love us unconditionally.  Thank you, dear God, for the gift of life. Life causes me awe, a reverence gratitude for it.  I love life with all my heart. It is a blessing to be alive. Cheers!thank you birthday wishes.gif
