Portfolio Analysis: Igniting a long-term spirit in a short-term world (VIII). DBR-Learning how to “build” prototypes.

Have a beautiful weekend. As promised, this is the third publication of the week. Today we will cover the subject of how to build prototypes using the DBR methodology. Portfolio Analysis at the strategic level requires that we understand very well how to apply DBR. We can´t continue promoting business models without considering the design and research on academic sources and practice. Otherwise, once we land into our professional careers, we will continue empowering wrong business models. We also have to do it without the usage of machines, because it is impossible to build the premises of our prototypes CORRECTLY, without our intervention. Otherwise, we end up leaving decision-making to algorithms, artificially intelligent machines, that are putting our planet in an out-of-balance position, as we are right now handling the excessive use of disruptive technologies. It is our duty to pause, reflect and procure a balanced planet. We can´t promote a NAIQI (Nanotechnology, Artificial Intelligence, Quantum supremacy, and the Internet) world that is barring the hand-made economic sectors and industries for good, particularly when we land into art.

Using the DBR is the beginning to see our business endeavors as an infinite non-ending learning opportunity. Please do not forget that design and research together can help us to create educational innovation in everything we do after we finish school or university. Only when humans accept that our life is a learning Bootcamp, only then we will realize how important is to perform an integral DBR before business modeling.

Today we will continue with our example to illustrate the DBR conceptual framework, which is related to art, specifically watercolor art professionals´ careers. Let`s continue with our goal for now, about phase number 5 BUILD.

Phase number 5. BUILD.
We have created the following set of 13 slides for you. If you feel more comfortable using the PDF document attached below, feel free to download it, or print it, and read it carefully. Do not forget this is the first loop only, and it requires to be reviewed by many other people. This process is iterative because it figures out an appreciation of multidisciplinary teams and inputs from diverse nature, so the final pricing prototype which will be a sum of many iterative loops.

Please be aware that every single of our interventions, pedagogically, has a maximum amount of material to share. Each of our posts is a written summary of a 90 minutes class presentation at a university-level course. Each of my sagas is a mini-version of a course that I can teach at a university, and that is why we have prepared it as such. We can´t overload you with stuff that later you won´t even remember. That is why we can´t extend too much in every post. In my next publication, we will finish phases number 6 and 7: TEST and PRESENT. We will also summarize the DBR process completely.

Thank you for reading to me. Enjoy your reading for the weekend.
