Announcement. Our 5th Masterclass has been moved to the 26th of June 2026.

Dear amazing readers:
This week is “Teacher´s Week” in El Salvador. Several universities have granted us some days off, given the nature of the holiday. Eleonora Escalante Strategy decided to take some days, but not to vacate, but to study the three scenarios that we will release about how the producers of coffee in the world can benefit from the design of three independent, trailblazing ownership structures. We are using these vacation days to corroborate the legal figures of our proposals, which will require the participation of multilateral/bilateral development institutions. Our analysis is innovative and different from what has already been used in agricultural finance. In consequence, our assumptions are distinct because we are not dragged by the traditional speculations, and we are trying to safeguard the land of the small farmers in the equity design.

Our aim is to contribute with new ideas to the coffee and cacao sector, in such a way that the global supply value chain can share the risks that are crucifying the upstream section, taking in mind that the value proposition is going to be built following the differentiation strategy (not the commodity generic value as it has been happening since the 19th century). Our philosophy is to allocate the risks differently. You will see what the result will be at our next Master Class. Until then, just relax and rest. I will be working the whole week.

Climate change has compelled us to change our daily schedules.
Additionally, I would like to announce that we have changed our schedule hours. We will initiate our working journée from 5 am to 11 am. Then, we will have a “global warming” pause between 11 am and 3 pm. And then we will resume our days working from 3 pm to 5 pm. The reason for this change is the heat. Between 11 am and 3 pm, it is too warm in San Salvador. In our effort to keep our brainiac health on point, I am compelled to pause during that time of the day. This is to illustrate to you that climate change is affecting not just the plants and coffee or cacao orchards, but it is and will affect human performance, schedule routines, and it will demand from us a new allocation of time that could help us to be safe.  High temperatures affect how our brains function, and our strategy house is aware of it. According to several studies, we have detected by personal evidence that it is important to care for our cognition, and we have changed our schedules accordingly. At least during this summer season, we will work with this new lifestyle scheme, and if we feel comfortable with this new habit, we will keep it forever. Enjoy your week, and see you this coming Friday, the 26th.

Blessings.
