Leg 11. From Gothenburg to The Hague (IV). Done!

Good afternoon.

The Volvo Ocean Race 2017-2018 has been completed today. Dongfeng won this time to the rest of the teams, by following a strategy which was consistent and compelling. Dong Feng decided to go east (closest to the Dutch shore), meanwhile, its closest competitors (Mapfre, Brunel, and Akzo Nobel) decided to go west offshore. Dongfeng Skipper Caudrelier and his crew decided “on Saturday evening to take a coastal route to the finish, which squeezed them tight against the shoreline and separated from the other leaders by a series of Exclusion Zones”. Today his strategy paid off to win. We were following the race LIVE in our twitter Eleonora Escalante Strategy @eliescalantech. By the way, we finished the race yesterday at 17:28 pm (CST) or 23:28 pm in UTC time. We finished more than 13 hours before Dongfeng arrival at the Hague.

This is the Overall Scoreboard:

Congratulations to Dongfeng. They took the risk to go differently (a Blue Ocean Strategy) and they won!. We hope all of you have enjoyed the end of this race. It was unbelievable. I will prepare a recapitalization of our whole strategy race and give you a summary of all the topics that we covered in Strategy.

My strategy race is done. Alex Guillermo Lozano Artolachipi, we did it!.VOR Final Outline done.jpg

In addition, let me share sad news from my family, and why we did not write to you before. An auntie, a sister of my mother, passed away today. Her name is Amanda de Belloso. She had 70 years old, and we are shocked. This is a great loss to us. We really lost a great auntie.  My heartfelt condolences to my two cousins Francis and Carminita, and their kids, my uncle Frank and his closest family. Aunt Amanda was a Christian lady who prayed and prayed and prayed always. She tried to love God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit with all her heart. She had the capacity to dream things which later on happened in real life. She told me that I was going to marry a tall foreign man (not from El Salvador), and she saw me in her dreams reading books, next to some little girls below a tree, to whom she identified as my future daughters. She told me to believe in her dream.  Alex Guillermo Lozano Artolachipi, I pray we can have little girls with you. I pray God that he can grant me the possibility to be pregnant and have beautiful little girls with you.

Blessings, and see you soon.
